Pilot Docs by Herodotus
Herodotus was born around 484 B.C. in Halicarnassus, Asia Minor. He wrote the first great prose history about the Greco-Persian Wars. As such, he is often called the "Father of History," even though sometimes his research methods, and reporting accuracy has been often called into question. His work has been divided (not by himself) into nine books. Roughly, Books one through five talk about background leading up to the wars, and the rest of the books cover the wars themselves.
